Infomercial for Recent Work

Since I've left the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, I've been pleased to work on several projects where I've collaborated with great people and learned a tremendous amount. Here are a few things I've been up to:

CoverTheUninsured.org: Working with RWJF's Coverage team and communications partners and the talented group at Forum One Communications, the site relaunched well in time for Cover the Uninsured Week (coincidentally this week). At the site, you can find facts, news and research about coverage issues, review state-by-state coverage data and locate Cover the Uninsured events near you. Stay tuned for more cool features....

Communications Network's "In the Spotlight" features: Working with Communications Network executive director Bruce Trachtenberg and several talented communicators in philanthropy, I've been writing stories about thoughtful or innovative approaches to communications by foundations.

It's been fascinating to see how different foundations approach their communications issues, and it's been absolutely inspiring to talk to so many people with passion for their work.

Testing, Testing ... 1, 2, 3

I set up this blog in the fall, and events in my family life kept me from thinking about blogging for work. Ever since then, I have been asking myself, why does the world need another blog on social media, user experience, health, etc.?

For the most part, I am still not settled on this issue. I tend to comment and repost the insights of others on my Twitter feed (where I am @egculbertson) and in my Google Reader feed.

This blog will serve two purposes:
1. I write periodically for other Web sites, and this blog will serve as a home base for that writing and for announcements of various projects where I work.
2. I have a wide set of interests, so I will do my best to write about those issues in order to better understand them. My foci will be in health (especially health 2.0), the use of Web for philanthropy and general issues in social media and user-centered Web design.

This blog is not likely to cover more personal observations (I have a semi-abandoned Oak Park blog for that as well as chatter on Twitter).

After I catch up on posting old content from my writing, I expect I will update this blog once a week or so.
